This year, The Forbes annual rich list revealed that the number of billionaires in the world has rocketed and that there are now an unequaled 2,755 on the list; this is 660 more than last year. This number equates to a new billionaire every 17 hours!
When we are talking about wealthy billionaires, we cannot fail to mention Jeff Bezos; he is the richest person globally with an estimated net worth of $177 billion. Making most of his money as the founder and former CEO of Internet giant Amazon.com, he remains the company’s executive chair.
Following Jeff Bezos closely behind is Elon Musk. Entrepreneur Musk is the co-founder of PayPal and Tesla and the founder of SpaceX, Neuralink, and The Boring Company. He serves as CEO of Tesla and CEO and lead designer of SpaceX. In 2020, Tesla’s stock price experienced a considerable increase, rising 705% from the start of the year to mid-December. His estimated net worth is now estimated at 151 million dollars.
2021 also saw some well-known celebrities achieve billionaire status:
The reality TV star turned entrepreneur was added to the list; she now has a net worth estimated at $1billion, thanks to her lucrative Skims shapewear collection and her KKW Beauty line, which she is currently in rebranding. Kim’s earnings also grow substantially thanks to numerous endorsements, deals, and investments she has made. Her ex-husband Kanye West is presently pipping her at the post, with an estimated net worth of $1.8 billion. The rapper made most of his money as the designer Yeezy and his partnership with Adidas.
Rihanna’s worth sits cozily around the $1.7 billion mark, making her the richest female artist globally. Besides her eight albums and Savage X Fenty lingerie line, Rihanna’s success is mainly attributed to the immensely successful Fenty Beauty line.
We may all know Jay-Z as a successful and famous rapper, but the celeb has been keeping himself busy in other avenues. He now has a net worth of an estimated $1.4 billion in total. Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s media company that represents athletes and entertainers, is worth $75 million. On the other hand, his streaming service, Tidal, is worth $100 million. He also owns a property portfolio worth $50m and an art collection worth over $70m.
